This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Paddington Cleaner to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and all forms of exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place.
Paddington Cleaner maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. Any form of forced, bonded, or compulsory labour, servitude, or exploitation is strictly prohibited in our business and in our supply chains. We expect the same high standards from all parties we work with, including suppliers, subcontractors, labour agencies, and other business partners.
This commitment is reflected in our internal policies, codes of conduct, and contractual terms. We clearly communicate our expectations to all employees and suppliers, and we reserve the right to terminate relationships with any party that is found to be involved in, or knowingly facilitates, modern slavery or related abuses.
We conduct ongoing assessments to identify, monitor, and mitigate the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains. Particular attention is given to higher risk areas such as contracted labour, cleaning materials, and any outsourced services. Where higher risk is identified, additional checks and assurances are required before entering or continuing a commercial relationship.
Due diligence processes include reviewing supplier policies and practices, assessing the use of subcontractors and recruitment agencies, and considering the geographic and sector-specific risks associated with their activities. We also expect our suppliers to undertake similar assessments of their own supply chains.
All suppliers are required to comply with Paddington Cleaner standards on labour and human rights. These requirements are built into our supplier selection and onboarding processes and form part of our ongoing relationship management.
We conduct supplier audits and reviews, which may include site visits, document checks, and interviews with management and, where appropriate, workers. These audits are designed to verify that suppliers uphold labour standards, provide safe working conditions, and do not engage in any form of modern slavery. Where non-compliance is identified, we work with the supplier to agree corrective actions within a defined timeframe. If meaningful progress is not made, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Paddington Cleaner provides training and guidance to relevant employees so they can recognise indicators of modern slavery and understand how to respond. This includes managers, supervisors, and team members involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management.
We promote awareness of workers rights, safe recruitment practices, and the importance of speaking up about concerns. By fostering a culture of transparency and responsibility, we aim to reduce the risk that exploitation can occur unnoticed.
We encourage anyone who has concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices relating to our business or supply chains to report them without delay. Concerns may be raised through our internal reporting procedures or directly to management. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will take all concerns seriously.
Paddington Cleaner does not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who report concerns in good faith. All reports are reviewed and, where appropriate, investigated. If issues are identified, we will take prompt and proportionate action, which may include engaging with suppliers, involving relevant authorities, or ending business relationships.
We are committed to continually improving our approach to preventing modern slavery. This statement and our related policies and procedures are reviewed at least annually, or sooner if there are significant changes in legislation, guidance, or our operations.
As part of the annual review, we evaluate the effectiveness of our risk assessments, supplier audits, training programmes, and reporting mechanisms. Lessons learned are used to strengthen our controls and to update our expectations of suppliers and partners.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Paddington Cleaner and represents our ongoing commitment to uphold human rights and eliminate modern slavery in all its forms.
